Residents
Our resident meal plans are designed to meet the unique needs of students living in our traditional resident halls, who are required to purchase a meal plan. Our resident plans come with varying amounts of meal swipes to be used primarily in the Dining Hall, and McDaniel Bucks, which is a declining balance account similar to a debit card. Each plan also comes with the meal exchange option available at select retail dining locations for a predefined entree, side and beverage option. Multiple resident meal plan options are available for you to choose from based on your dining preferences and needs.

Housing with Kitchens & Commuters
Available to upperclassmen and seniors living in apartments as well as commuter students. These meal plan options provide flexible access to all dining locations across campus, with meal swipes and McDaniel Bucks to fit a variety of dining preferences and lifestyles. These students can purchase any of the plans listed above as well as the following.

Commuters
Our commuter plans are only available to students who do not live on campus. Our commuter plans are value oriented and designed specifically for our students who may not spend as much time on campus as the resident students. One meal exchange equals one set meal containing an entrée, a side and a drink.
Think of a meal swipe as your "ticket" to a meal at an event - they do not have a dollar value.

Where can I use my meal exchanges?
You can use meal exchanges at Hill Top Pub/Freshens, which is upstairs above the Dining Hall.
What are McDaniel Bucks, and where can I use them?
McDaniel Bucks are a flexible dollar-for-dollar balance included with your meal plan. They can be used at Caseys' Corner, Hilltop Pub, Champs, and other on-campus dining locations. It's a great option when you want something outside a swipe-based meal, like a coffee run or a snack between classes.
What if I run out of McDaniel Bucks before the semester ends?
Additional McDaniel Bucks can usually be added to your account at any time. Reach out to the dining office for information.
Do guest passes exist if I want to bring a friend or family member to Englar?
Yes, guest passes are available for use at Englar Dining Hall.
Do unused meal swipes roll over each week?
No, meal swipes reset weekly and do not carry over.
